Contacted by L’Orient-Le Jour in Skövde, Sweden, where the Aoun family resides, Jennifer’s mother, Kafa, recalls her daughter’s already pronounced ambitions, at only 8 years old: “She really started singing at the age of 3 or 4 years. Regardless of whether she was singing out of tune or not, she just wanted to put on a show, and we encouraged her. An absolute fan of Celine Dion and Jennifer Hudson, she quickly took an interest in the lives of her idols who lined the walls of her teenage bedroom. Admiring the great female voices that rocked her childhood and gave her the courage and the desire to embark on a probable career, in particular through one of the most watched programs in Scandinavia, Jennifer pays tribute to them in her own way. taking their titles.

Thanks to her Beirut mother and her father from Jbeil, Jennifer, who was born in Sweden, managed to forge strong ties with Lebanon. If his parents chose this country as their adopted land almost 18 years ago, it was important for the family to keep a connection with that of Cedar. Apart from the two years when the Swedish borders were closed or faced many restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Aouns, like many families from the diaspora, return every year for the long holidays.

Since the broadcast of the first episode of this season of Talang, the performance of the young singer has toured social networks, in Sweden as in Lebanon. It is with great emotion that Kafa, mother of three children, tells us of the unconditional support and the upheaval that she felt from the Lebanese diaspora and the Lebanese in general.
