Olympe is known to Internet users thanks to her Youtube channel, had participated in Faustine Bollaert’s program on France 2, “It starts today”. In particular to bead about her illness: the 23-year-old young woman has had dissociative identity disorder (DID) for years.
Olympe, whose real first name is Lily, had explained how she lived with “alters”, other personalities and how they manifested themselves by taking control of her body. She gave a name to each of them. Among them the young woman had explained that there was one who had become protective, Lucie. She had also visibly manifested herself on France 2.
But the young youtuber also explained that a personality, Charlie, had taken control and had “tried to kill us, because he couldn’t take it anymore”.
“My limits have been pushed to their extreme”
But in recent days, Olympe posted a two-part message on her Instagram account to announce her decision to die. In the videos, she announces in particular that she is in contact with doctors in Belgium to have recourse to assisted suicide in the last quarter of 2023.
“It’s my life, it’s a tough decision I had to make.” The announcement having caused a lot of reaction, the 23-year-old young woman spoke about this decision: “Like any human, I have my limits. And my limits have been pushed to their extreme for years. I am very tired. .”
Olympe is clear: “Life, I feel it as I suffer it.” She also denounces the cyber harassment she suffered following this decision which was “taken with a clear head”.
“I still want to live a lot of things”
But the youtuber suggests that there is still hope that can make her give up her scheduled death. If the announcement has been made, her position may change, she does not exclude that changes may make her change her mind. “I still want to live a lot of things,” explains Olympe and that’s why she set herself the end of 2023 for her assisted suicide.
